Yesterday, Winchester Lido group threw their backing behind the Friends of River Park (FoRP) campaign. We are delighted to have their support.
“River Park urgently needs your help! 
Following the council’s sign off to sell part of River Park to the University of Southampton, Winchester Lido are supporting Friends of River Park in attempting to raise £5000 to find a legal (a Judicial Review) challenge to the council’s decision to sell the land.
We are not anti-university but we are passionate about River Park remaining in public ownership with unhindered public access. Should the council be unable to afford any development option at all (including but not limited to a lido) then we would ultimately support the planting of trees in this space.
By supporting funding a Judicial Review this doesn’t mean you necessarily have to support the lido project.
